Equipment and Real Property

Equipment Sought

Early in 2003, The FMA Foundation encouraged Amada America, a leading manufacturer of fabrication equipment, to donate an Amada Vipros 357 Hydraulic Turret Punch Press to the Advanced Manufacturing Institute (AMI) at Kansas State University, an FMA Certified Education Center. The FMA Foundation facilitated additional contributions from Wilson Tool International and Mate Precision Tooling designated for new tooling and set up costs. The Foundation made a grant of $1,000 to AMI to help transport the equipment. Today, the Amada punch press is a key piece of advanced manufacturing technology for students at Kansas State.

The FMA Foundation is actively seeking contributions of advanced fabrication equipment. The Foundation will work with FMA's Certified Education Centers in the United States and Canada to place equipment for use by manufacturing students. Equipment donated that is not readily placeable may be sold with proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund and other programs.

Making contributions of equipment may help your company avoid tax issues relating to the recapture of depreciation. Please consult your tax advisor for specific details prior to making a contribution.

Sell an Item on eBay for the FMA Foundation:

Companies selling materials or equipment on the popular auction site eBay may now designate a percentage or all of the proceeds from an eBay auction directly to the FMA Foundation’s scholarship fund.

The program by eBay called Giving Works can be found through www.ebay.com. The program requires sellers to register with eBay’s charitable arm at www.missionfish.com. Once registered, companies may designate a percentage or all of the sale proceeds to the FMA Foundation. The designation then appears when the company lists the item on eBay.

Register today and start selling for the scholarship fund.
